    Reading Journal #2

15.08.2023 Tuesday What a night it was! Lightning flashed one after another for hours, and after each lightning, thunder rumbled. I am usually not easily awakened by noise, but this time even I got woken up by how loud it was. Now I have two things to solve. First one is how to survive the Continue reading

    Reading Journal #1

13.08.2023 Sunday It is Sunday. A good day as any other to start something. Here I am, starting to write my day-to-day reading journal.  I like reading journals of other people. One of the latest I’ve started to read were the diaries of Alan Rickman (“Madly, Deeply”). It was hard to make much sense of Continue reading

July Book Haul. Book Haul #1

Books keep piling around me. It’s perfect moment to shared some of my recent book hauls. “The Quantum Thief” by Hannu RajaniemiThe first novel in a “Jean le Flambeur” trilogy from a Finnish author. The book is promised to be sci-fi cyberpunk fiction. I’m not a big sci-fi fan, I barely read anything in that Continue reading

    “House Rules” by Jodi Picoult

In “House Rules” we meet several main characters, and from their perspective some parts of the story are told. The main focus is on the eighteen-year-old boy Jacob Hunt, with Asperger’s syndrome, then we see his mom (Emma) and brother (Theo), and then others. I think we should also add a society as a character, Continue reading

“Klara and the Sun” by Kazuo Ishiguro

If I’d be very generous, in a good mood, and would count that book as a fairytale, I can give it 3 stars. The book is marked as a science fiction and dystopia. Well… Some moments slightly remind you of those. But having robots in your book is not enough to make it sci-fi immediately. Continue reading

About Me

Avid reader. I love to walk around the city with an audio book in my ears. Or wrap myself in a warm blanket, make a cup of tea, and read something aloud together with my boyfriend.
